Katrina Newby
Meet Katrina, Speech Pathologist extraordinaire at KNSP.
Katrina graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne in 2006. She spent 4 years working for the department of education and in private practice, before making the move to the Gold Coast in 2010. Katrina worked for a little while in a not-for-profit organisation in Brisbane before starting her career within the hospital setting as the rehabilitation speech pathologist. Over the years, Katrina has discovered her passion for working with adults in an acute medical setting and has worked at a senior level since 2012. Katrina has worked across many areas of medicine including rehabilitation, intensive care, emergency care, neurology, orthopaedics, gastroenterology, geriatrics, cardiology, oncology and general medicine. Katrina has experience working with people with a range of medical diagnosis including stroke, dementia, primary progressive aphasia, head and neck cancer, Parkinson’s Disease, Motor Neurone Disease, Progressive Supranuclear Palsy, essential tremor, Myasthenia Gravis, Multiple Sclerosis, brain tumours and Functional Neurological Disorder. |
